Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actress best recognized for her roles in films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the popular television series The Mentalist. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in African-American Studies at Brown University as well as a master's degree in Fine Arts in Acting at the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is a writer as well as an actress in theater, film and television. Her career in acting began at the theatre. Later, she was a part of various TV shows including independent films as well as mainstream film. She gained fame as Miranda Shaw, a character from ABC's Quantico. In the BET's huge series The Book of Negroes she played the role of Ariel. Not only did she receive praise in her character but was also awarded and nominations. Her debut on stage as Ariel in The Tempest. Stage credits consist of Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production directed by Joe Turner. Film-wise her most well-known roles are the roles she played in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. The role she plays on TV on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her accolades.
