Her achievements as a child performer in America (which we refer to as Maureen O'Hara today) would have definitely put her into the category of child prodigies. It was an innate trait for a girl who was of Irish heritage, that was surrounded during the beginning by gifted family members as well as parents. In the age of 14, she had been admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue operatic singing as well as classical theater.
